Scooter tires and moped tires are smaller in diameter when compared to other motorcycle tires. The smaller size does not mean any less work is put into making these tires. The sipe design on the tires is made to reduce the amount of water between the tire and road. This is to prevent hydroplaning and keep you on the road. The spine on these tires is thinner not simply because the width of the tire is smaller. There needs to be enough flexibility to allow the scooter to turn correctly.
Motor scooter tire sizes can vary immensely, but in general, most scooters have a wheel diameter of thirteen inches. Tire size is determined by the make and model of your scooter. Older scooter requires a little more research before purchasing a set of tires. Now, motor scooter tires are designed to distribute its weight evenly. Older versions have a certain lean on one side. Even though this doesn’t raise any alarms over time one side of the tire can become slightly warped.

How are these tires different?

Unlike choppers, the front and rear tire on scooters and mopeds are of the same width. The power output on a scooter is responsible for the size of the tires. As these vehicles are made to commute short distances in densely packed environments the small size of the tires makes it easy to maneuver. Leaning the moped to one side beyond a certain angle will cause the bike to fall to its side.

Such a disaster is less likely to happen with off road moped tires. As the raised treads are closer to the rim leaning to one side, the moped is less likely to fall because of the improved grip. This does not mean you can lean into a turn like a Moto GP driver. The off-road tires are better equipped to absorb vibrations, but the thicker rubber on the tire can lead to an uncomfortable ride.

Unlike printed adverts, the product will have a more function centered overview on the producer’s site. This makes it easier to sort through different companies’ products to find the best-suited one for you. It’s best to avoid purchasing second-hand tire as these put you at risk of suffering an accident.
